Hey ladies! Glad to read updates- woohoo
@NorthStar - wow! 27 weeks already that is great. Baby boy to round out the family numbers!
@Amariel Oh good- I hope you are able to get those two follicles to maturity. It sounds good that they are both the same size- that seems like would be good for them to continue to grow together? I think it could be interesting to see the extra monitoring. I mean like you said you'll have sex regardless and don't need exact timing, but juts having some reassurance is nice sometimes. Hope the progesterone looks good.
@Peony Happy 16 weeks. I hope your first trimester was not too bad. Cause my goodness, I never realized how tough the first trimester can be. When do you have a scan to confirm the gender? I also have an anterior placenta.
@JustTrying - I admit I have been stalking your chart a bit. I'm glad the higher dose of femara worked well! I think CD17 for this cycle - hope it is a good one! Did you have monitoring this month or last to see how the follicles are growing or if you are getting more than one? Did you have any follow-up on the possible tubal blockage/slow flow?
@AlaskanWife I have ben watching your chart too. I wonder what happened this month with the no O and long length. Darn it. How frustrating and disappointing. I think re-doing basic tests is a good idea. After your surgery and some months of normalcy, its good to get another baseline look.
@Mel Did you notice any difference in the follicles or your symptoms taking the femara later in the cycle? I read your update on the google group too- so happy to see your sister's news- how crazy to have that happen all of a sudden when she least expected it I'm sure. I'll definitely be watching your adoption updates and know that you guys will rock that when it comes time- there is so much planning and prep that goes into that too. It seems overwhelming sometimes.
Well, AFM, I'm nearly 23 weeks. I feel really good overall. I get tired pretty easily, but really have no major complaints. My biggest two complaints are poor sleep quality and GAS... like seriously I have not heard this talked about as a pregnancy symptom but it seems super common. For me it's insanely common and it HURTS... .like I know that sounds dramatic and almost unbelievable, but gas pains can hurt! and it's not like I'm over here drinking soda and eating beans! I don't have any real cravings- at least nothing I consider a craving cause I hear about cravings as "weird' things usually. My big "wants" as far as food goes are fruit... I eat it all day long! I have also been wanting chocolate milk lately and I don't even drink milk (I do almond milk) and I made some choc almond milk with hersheys syrup last week and it was good but almond milk really has no nutritional value so I bought some chocolate milk (cows milk) this weekend thinking at least I can get some protein out of it and had a glass this morning and might be over it... lol I've really enjoyed the pregnancy so far though aside from my random bleeding/spotting on and off since 15 weeks and the need to be on pelvic rest/light duty since then. Luckily the common causes of 2nd trimester bleeding don't apply to my situation (they are all fairly scary) so that's great, but I don't have an explanation for it which annoys me. The best reason we can give is that the placenta is a bit low lying (but not covering or touching the cervix) and might be causing the spotting if it bumps into things. I've had like 3 exams in the past month or so to check out this bleeding and always the same "no cause" so we're just plugging along. I have an anterior placenta, which means the placenta is "in front" like the baby needs to kick through the placenta for me to feel it on my belly.... needless to say that plus my first time mom status of "is that a kick or gas or what was that feeling?" I have not felt movement yet. My OB said give to until around 24 weeks the latest for my situation... I'm anxious! I felt (I think) flutters last weekend for the first time and again this weekend, but I can't be sure.
At our 20 week ultrasound, baby girl would not "uncurl" herself at all....totally uncooperative so we have to go back at 24 weeks to try again. they could not get a look at her heart and internal organs. So we go back on the 11th for that re-check.
In non-baby/fertility news, we had to put one of my cats to sleep 2 weeks ago. In august he got (what we thought was) a cold - he gets this sometimes cause he has allergies. He then developed a swelling on one side of his face which was strange/different so we brought him in (normally I would not for a cold cause he does get them) and they said he had some teeth that were infected maybe or it could have been a tumor. So he had surgery to remove the teeth (poor guy) but the x-rays showed it didn't really seem like that was the issue and they did a biopsy that showed he had a tumor and it was really aggressive/fast growing. So after a few more weeks at home we had to put him down as he was in pain and there was nothing more we could do. I was pretty much devastated and heart broken as he's been my baby for almost 12 years.
